The stress of not fitting in at work made me question my abilities. Laura assured me I wasn’t broken—I just needed a different perspective and a plan.

SPOTLIGHT

I started my company by spotting opportunities that others overlooked—trusting my gut feelings. The business grew, and I brought on partners, but the same unconventional ideas that built my business sometimes made my partners uncomfortable. Whenever I pitched new ideas to the team, they'd resist before I could fully explain.

I was drained from constantly having to prove myself and from holding back my ideas to avoid pushback. I’ve dealt with ADHD since I was a kid, so feeling like an outsider wasn't new to me. The stress of always being on the opposite side of the table at work made me question myself. That’s when I decided to try coaching.

Right away, Laura made it clear that I wasn’t broken and didn’t need fixing. We developed a way to break down and present my ideas so my partners would be receptive. I didn’t have to change who I am; I just needed to understand how they process information.

Now, I feel confident again and am looking for new opportunities without shutting down my instincts. I have to give credit to Laura—she's a business expert who understands both the positive and negative ways ADHD can impact a person and their life. She's scheduled to lead a workshop on managing neurodiverse employees for our managers, and I look forward to working with her personally in the future.
